Oh, Life!

The pots I planted at work are looking good!  Really growing!  I had to share some of the flowers
with a coworker because I put way too many in each pot.  He just purchased a new home
and his daughters each brought some soil and a pot, so they each got to plant something
beautiful for their new home!  SO fun!  Lookin' good!
The river was sure pretty today on my walk, I even got to see sunflowers!
Back Country Acres picked up some of our Wild at Heart items.
Super cute store with homemade jams, jellies, honey, soaps, crafts, African baskets, our photography,
our horseshoe crafts, and more!

Headed to Gram and Pa's with my team!!

Sunflowers!

This past Sunday, our church celebrated the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Butcher!  They have been married for over 60 years!  We are blessed to have these type of relationships as models in this world today.  For this, we are thankful!

I got to take home some of the beautiful sunflowers in a big blue Mason jar.  I placed them on our kitchen table with my canvas of sunflowers in the background to remind us what true love is all about.  The canvas picture (in the background) of the sunflowers are actually by description of most farmers around here, weeds.  They grow in the ditches and in your gardens and most people look at them as a nuisance.  But, they are still God's creation and they are beautiful too.  God can take any of life's circumstances and make them for His good.

Relaxing in our *amazing* hammock watching the
clouds go by!

What's wrong with this picture?

As you can see, this photo is full of emotions!  Cat is knowingly running the house as he has claimed Mya's bed for his current grooming session.  Mya has kindly given him her bed and decided to share Briggs' bed with him.  Briggs is not into this sharing thing at all.  At 100# and tall, being squished between the couch and Mya, is not his idea of relaxing.  He is ready to get up and move.

Beautiful patriotic plastic bag holder Mrs. Linda
Mundell gave us for the 4th of July!  It looks great
in the laundry room and super useful!

Nursery & TLC Mother's Day Mini Sessions

~Wild At Heart Photography~

Bless his heart, Heath went to TLC with me before church to help me finish setting up.  I had a table full of our horseshoe art to see if we could market it.  He helped me drag all of it in!

We then went to church to help in the nursery before I had to leave again.  Heath has really taught me to stretch in my serving.  If you would have told me three years ago that I would be helping in the nursery, I would have told you that I haven't ever changed a diaper in my life.  Turns out, I have since changed one (not the best experience as the little boy ended up running around without his pants on...I guess there is always next time!)

Going into the photoshoot, I had one person signed up for a 20 minute mini session.  By the end of the day, I ended up being blessed with five families.  I tried a new way of marketing this through a site that allowed me to post my event and then people could pay online and just come with their ticket.  I had one family do it this way!

First day of school shot...LOL!

What an awesome opportunity this gave me to interact and serve the kids, their parents, and their grandparents.  It was such a special time as some were baby photos, some families, some just kids....this was an affordable opportunity for families to get together for some shots....what better timing with Mother's Day a week from today.  So ~BLESSED~ to have this day to do this!

Check out these precious, just precious moments that I was able to catch (shared with their parent's approval).

~A special thank you to Krystal and TLC for the opportunity to do this!~

Preparation

This is what I saw on my way down our drive....all my boys working on making this gazebo a reality!  You will be able to see the step-by-step process they did in building it!  I tried to take lots of pictures to see the progress.  What a cool thing!

As a safety officer, this is not exactly what
I wanted to see!  :/

I SOOOO didn't want to leave them to do all this work, but I had my work cut out for me this afternoon.  I headed into TLC to prepare my back drop for tomorrow's Mother's Day Mini Photo Sessions.  Krystal Aulick approached me a few weeks back about this opportunity to shoot during their Kid's Seedlings Day.  She thought it would be fun to offer a photographer during this particular Sunday before Mother's Day allowing an great opportunity for some family photos for Mama.  What do you think about the backdrop?!  We will see how the lighting works tomorrow!

TLC Mini Sessions ~ Mother's Day Prep

So, I had an idea the other day and thought that I would try it.  I went out to the garage with scissors and a paint brush.  I found some old burlap sacks, that I knew I would use one day, and cut them into small rectangles.  Then, I found some white paint and carefully painted a letter on to each one and attached with clothes pins to a white ribbon.  See what you think?!  This will be for part of my backdrop setting during my Mother's Day Mini Photo Sessions at TLC this weekend!

Exciting Mail Today

I went out to get the mail today at work and came back inside with this copy of The Bean Bag, Spring Issue.  I am honored to say that our photo made the front cover!  I was working with the publisher, Barb, on some other stuff when one day, I finally asked her if she ever needs photos for her magazine.  She said that she would love to get a few photos from me to use as she needed.  She even noted in her email that she would like to get me some business, how sweet!  Little did I know that we would get a spot on the front cover!  She specifically picked this photo of a little bean pushing it's way out of the hard-packed, wind-blown Nebraska soil for the Spring issue because planting season is upon us already!

My husband's new guns just arrived today also!  I snuck this photo of him through our kitchen window as he was trying it out for the first time.  He is so proud of these guns!  I am very glad that he can enjoy these!  He will be able to put them to good use next year while hog hunting!  :)

Heath has been busy this week, working in the shop.  This is a beautiful barn wood frame that he made for Pastor Jake.  The wood is from an old barn they tore down in Colorado, given to us by my dad.  Inside the frame is a super special letter written to Pastor Jake from Japan, I believe.  It was written in beautiful calligraphy back in 1974, before either of us were even born!  The black fountain calligraphy pen attached to the frame is from Barb's grandparents.  How cool and what a beautiful conglomeration of talent and love.

Almost Friday

We had AWANA last night.  I got my second 1/2 gallon of whole, yes, cream and all, fresh cow's milk.  It is awesome!  A lady who's son we watch in the nursery milks her own cows.  I thought it would be fun to try and it sure was a good choice!

I had a gentleman call me out of the blue this past week regarding some of our horseshoe art up at the college.  He wanted to know what else we had available, so I was able to update our website with some of our products on it for him to take a look.  I thought that he might specifically be interested in the above cross.

These clothes make me happy!  :)  Don't judge!

Long week, almost done, TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!

Staples Copy and Print Center

Heath had mentioned the other day, that he saw our photography in the Copy and Print Center at Staples.  I got to see them for myself last week.  I did alot of business there a couple of years ago for my previous job.  One day, the wonderful lady that helped me, asked me to bring in a few of my pieces with our logo and their "Copy and Print Center" information and they would advertise for us!  :)

The left photo is ours.  Aerial spray plane between two

Opening Day Deer Season 2014

We got up early and headed to Stegall in two different vehicles.  Mine was all packed up with our Farmer's Market items and Heath's pickup had all of our hunting gear in it.  He picked up Bill on his way to meet me at his parent's house.  We grabbed his dad and headed down to the Creek where we set up in a small ravine. The snow was blowing and this little ravine helped block the wind a bit.  It was quite nice as we waited for the sun to rise.  We waited for about an hour and didn't see anything so we headed back to the pickup to move.

We went to pick up the kids so they could be a part of our hunting experience.  Out into the fields we went again.  Heath spotted a doe and out I went.  It was just like we had practiced and I actually pulled the trigger this year.  I am very thankful for a very good shot and no wounding.  Shortly after my 9 am kill, Bill and Heath got out and started stalking a herd while I stayed in the pickup with the kids.

My first DEER!

We heard a shot.  It was Bill who shot his deer, all of the sudden, the kids and I counted 15 deer in a herd who start running.  There were more than that we didn't even count.  It was awesome!  By this point it was snowing alot!  Visibility was not good.

Bill's first DEER!

Now, it was Heath's turn to get a deer.  Last year, he could have had several shots, but he would not shoot until the boys and I filled our tags first.  Needless to say, since I did not pull the trigger on the three really good, close shot he got for me, he did not get to get a deer last year.  Make me proud honey!  His integrity is phenomenal because last year we saw a monster buck on some absentee landowner's property.  He could have easily shot and no one would have ever known, but he chose to use this as an example for his boys, showing integrity.  He was rewarded this year with a very nice buck!

My Baby's big Buck!  He has waited so patiently for him!

All three within an hour.

After Heath got his, he had Bill take me back to the house to get changed for Market at TLC.  I quickly changed and headed into town for a switch of gears.  Selling our Wild At Heart products!  Luckily, I had alot of help from the kids and Barb getting set up.  I was sad that I couldn't help with my favorite part, gutting, but we had already committed to the Market.  It was a good one, glad we went and shortly after, Heath, Bill, and Pa came.
