A Day's Work

Sarah Young's Jesus Calling Devotional
I am clinging to this message!

The cutest little individual sized cantaloupe, creamed peas
and potatoes, and mixed green salad.

Kendra's celebration birthday party at work!  It was really nice!  We work with such an awesome team!

Have you ever made macaroni salad!?  It's kind of a new awesome thing in my life!
Fresh watermelon, tomatoes, and beet tops!  Oh, and of course, BACON!!

Today's Harvest!  *Bountiful Blessings*

After a long day's work at work and on the farm, we retired to the amazing
hot tub under the stars!

Life Abundant

This is hanging in my home office.  It is a great reminder for me and it specifically spoke to me this morning.  "They are new every morning!!!!!"
Photo Credit:  these are Heath's favorite flower (and color) -- Columbines

Ate lunch and visited with my client who is living her dream!
She has recently opened her own restaurant!
Mexican Food and Indian Fry Bread.
Oh, the stories, such wonderful fellowship!
A great woman of God!

I stopped by Tricia's LIVE remote at First
National Bank this afternoon.  It was fun!

Meanwhile, back on the farm....Petey is gorgeous and spread for me (as he does every night for his girls - chickens)!
He is so beautifully and wonderfully made!  I wonder what God had in mind while creating a peacock and then while creating a guinea
(no offense, but the peacock is GORGEOUS and the guinea....well, not so gorgeous but both are excellent 'watch - birds'). Grateful for both!

KNEB presents the Josh Turner Concert at Five Rocks

Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering
Friday Set Up

We set up on Friday and presented on Saturday.  My dear husband came on Saturday evening (after a long day of pea harvest in Bridgeport) to help our team put on this concert.  I am grateful for his love and dedication to me.

I was in charge of what they called "Catering."  This was super fun because it included
HOSPITALITY!  I enjoyed serving and visiting with the band and crew!  Very, very
nice people!

We served breakfast, lunch, and supper to both bands and their crews.  (Justin, our IT guy, opened!!!!!)  It was super fun visiting with each of them and learning more about their life and what the music industry looks like.  They drove 20 hours just for our concert!  One gentleman asked about a gym so before they had their sound check he went over to the Warehouse Fitness Center.  He said he was the only one there and called the owner to see how he could pay but the owner just told him to enjoy and catch him next time?!  Really, do you think he will be back in Western Nebraska soon?  From Nashville, Tennessee.  Another member of the band rode his bike to the top of the Monument.  I think they enjoyed seeing our part of the country.

I was also in charge of helping sell the Josh Turner merchandise.  This was interesting as we sold ALOT of stuff from his new book to t-shirts to CD's.  It was a busy place most of the evening.  We were located right behind the ticket check-in/stage.  Heath helped us do inventory at the end.  Again, a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL man!

Awesome team!

Long day on Saturday, but totally worth it.  It was a beautiful night, the crowd was large, and most everyone we talked to were having a great time!  AND both bands proclaimed CHRIST!  :)

Life

So, I had the wonderful idea to run to my PT appointment this morning, you know, multitasking.  I made the mistake of thinking that it wasn't that hot.  By the time I got there (insert HIGH humidity), 2.25 miles later, I was drenched in sweat.  Oh well, they were super nice and totally didn't mind at all.  After my session, I started heading back across the road to head home when I saw a very familiar truck drive by.  Red.DodgeTruck.RamBoxes.  Yep, it shortly thereafter circled around and my Prince Charming came and rescued.  (I think he thinks I am crazy half the time for some of the things I do, but at least it makes him laugh!)  Honestly, his timing was perfect!  I was so happy to see him and I need to work my way into this humidity so that I don't get sick again like last year.  I was also on a bit of a time crunch as I was preparing to leave for work for the rest of the day.

Rough life at the office for Petey!
Yes, he put himself in this fort.
*3 beds*

After work, I met Heath over at Bill's as he was reorganizing his pickup for the kids' arrival tomorrow.  I had done all the prep work for dinner before I left for work.  I stopped by the house to pick it up and threw some quinoa and noodles on the stove.  We had deer with a thai fling...ginger and coconut milk over quinoa (me) and noodles (Heath).  Click *here* for the recipe, but I didn't really follow it.  Just used it as a guideline for spices and such.  Turned out pretty good for spur-of-the-moment idea!

Totally Surprised!

I have been reading and listening to Focus on the Family and Family Life alot this past week trying to get as many tips as possible to make Valentine's Day extra special for my man.  We did get to sleep in as we listened to the rain coming down through our open window.  I asked Heath if we could celebrate another day because I would be working late.  He was totally fine with it knowing that I wanted to do something special for him.  With that agreed upon, I gave him a fun little coupon book  (thanks to the help of Family Life resources) in the morning before leaving for work.  Just a little something.

The rain was a blessing in disguise because Heath didn't have to work today.  He was then able to drive Gram to the airport for her flight home.  Everything happens for a reason!

Meanwhile, I were in a crazy rush at the clinic and I saw a tall person wearing a dark coat out of the corner of my eye.  Trying to focus on finishing with the client in front of me, I didn't greet this person right away.  He was greeted by my colleague.  When I was finished, I turned around and sure enough it was MY MAN!  Heath surprised me with a beautiful pink rose, probably the biggest one I have ever seen!!  He wanted to take me to lunch, so I told him that I would be available starting at 12:10 pm.  Little did I know, he waited so kindly and patiently for me in his truck.

We ate at Firehouse Subs and I had my favorite, the Beef and Cheddar on wheat with mayo, steamed!  Yep, I don't know what it is about this combination with the bbq sauce and mayo, but it is amazing and keeps me fuller longer than my normal lunches!  YAY!  Middle of the week surprise date!  This moment kept me going all day.  When I texted Heath to tell him that I was going to be even later than I had originally planned, he graciously texted back "bike or food first."  What a man, he knows me soo very well!  Since it was Tuesday and I didn't ride this morning, he knew that I would be needing to do that tonight.  I replied, "food!"

As I was walking up our apartment stairs, I could smell something wonderful cooking.  I was so graciously greeted by my man at the top of the stairs waiting for me to get home!  The first thing I saw was that he had set up my bike in the our living room and laid out my biking clothes, shoes, and heart rate monitor.  He even aired up my tires and placed my yoga mat under it.  WOW, this truly almost brought me to tears.  I had only asked him to bring it in off the deck earlier because I don't like her getting rained on, but all of this!?!

WOW, Heath had all of these flowers....everywhere!  It was absolutely amazing as he had totally cleaned our place, done laundry, set the table, had dinner ready, and a bath drawn.  It was beautiful.  Absolutely beautiful!  I am totally on cloud 9!  It was a Kinsey crafted meal of my favorite salad of mixed greens, feta, craisins, and peach vinegar.  He had prepared the best chicken and baby potatoes and cheesy mixed veggies.  INCREDIBLE!  I had no idea!  And here I was thinking we were going to have a regular night.  Turned into a magical fairytale topped off with sparkling grape juice!

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."  ~1 Corinthians 13:4-8~

I forgot to mention the 3 types of new ice
cream too!  :)  This man truly knows
my heart!

Happy Friday!!

Steamboat Springs ~ HERE we come!

I am so excited about celebrating Heath's birthday and racing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado this weekend!!!!  It is such a naturally beautiful place to share a romantic/adventurous getaway with the mountains and the wildflowers!  It is truly magical!  I loaded up the car early this morning with all of my gear so that when I got off work, I'd be ready to go.

A new subsurface drip irrigation filter station.

Meanwhile, back at the office, I was designated to create some color with flowers in the front of our building.  I was given the opportunity to create a statement.  We did a good job purchasing the flowers as they were in 4 and 6-packs.  By the time I got both my pots full, I soon realized I had purchased way too many flowers.  What better thing to do than to share them as they are the gift that will keep on giving all summer long.

Our company marketing director had just moved into his new home.  He has beautiful twin little girls who love flowers so I was blessed to be able to share with them a flower potting session!

As soon as this wonderful day at work was over, I headed home to meet up with Heath.  We had to squish the doggies into our Neon to take them to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  So blessed to have them close and I know their other Grandpa would have come from Colorado Springs to babysit if their other side wasn't available.  (Briggs got the backseat while Mya was in the front in between my legs!)

A Day at the Office

Working in a male-dominated world, I have learned that I can still add a little bit of a feminine touch occasionally.  So.....I put *BIG,* beautiful, bright flowers on all of our pens at the front parts counter so they wouldn't accidentally get misplaced!  ;)

The steel for a new pivot has arrived and it's ready to be taken to the field for our crew to erect!

Work Day

Today, I got to go with the guys to see how things are done on pivots out in the field.  It was a very good learning day plus I snapped a few photos along the way!

Please welcome ~ Thomas the Turtle ~ Uncle Heath found him/her for Elijah and Belle.  We had turtle races until Briggs gently picked up Thomas.  We politely told Briggs that Thomas didn't like being picked up by him.  Animals sure do have natural instincts to protect.

A Day in the Life

The "touch" of color added to our industrial-
looking office building.  A breath of fresh air!
Growing nicely!

Fresh dill from the garden!  This stuff grows EVERYWHERE!  Sprinkled
seeds last year.  Smells wonderful and great on salads!

I feel so *BLESSED* this evening!  Fresh greens from our bountiful garden and fresh flowers to go on our table!

Our table!

He lets the dogs think they are in charge.

It's time for bed and Briggs still wants to play...Mya all wrapped up in a t-shirt to keep her from scratching.

Flower Shopping

I went with my boss today to look at some of the community gardens around Scottsbluff.  We need to add some color to our landscape to help it look more inviting and less industrial.  It is fun to watch these gardens change throughout the seasons.  This is what they look like now, in the beginning of spring.  After finding some inspiration, we went flower shopping.

Final Product ~ Color Added

This was a fun project!  I am hoping for some *BIG,* BRIGHT, COLOR added to our office front throughout this summer!

Snow-In-May ~ Happy Mother's Day!

Well, 'playing-in-the-snow' is what we did first thing this morning.  Boy, were the dogs excited!

Gazebo with snow.

They helped me pick some lettuce for our
Sunday lunch....we had to do a bit of diggin'.

It was hard to locate, but TEAMwork and we found it!

Pretty barn!  Thank goodness we got that new roof on for the chickens.
As you can see, far left, Ms. Penney likes to be out in the elements!

I also picked a TON of dill so it wouldn't die
under the snow.  Learned to freeze in olive
oil in ice cube trays.  We will see how
they turn out!

I had fun setting our table!

Huge drifts on our cars....church got cancelled!

My wonderful chef husband created this meal!  The only thing I made
was the salad the dogs and I dug up together.

*THIS* is what life is all about:  *FAmiLY!*
Happy Mother's Day Mama!
