TLC Mini Sessions ~ Mother's Day Prep

So, I had an idea the other day and thought that I would try it.  I went out to the garage with scissors and a paint brush.  I found some old burlap sacks, that I knew I would use one day, and cut them into small rectangles.  Then, I found some white paint and carefully painted a letter on to each one and attached with clothes pins to a white ribbon.  See what you think?!  This will be for part of my backdrop setting during my Mother's Day Mini Photo Sessions at TLC this weekend!

Field Signs for Work

We had a couple of nice big signs made to advertise in fields where our product is in use.  It should be good PR!

* Life * Growth * Spring *

Here are a few photos from my walk today.  I am blessed to drive maybe two minutes from where I work to the River Trail.  This trail runs along the North Platte River and it is gorgeous!  Today, I became very aware that spring has sprung!  They have these flower beds planned very well along the trail as they are in bloom (different bloom) ALL spring, summer, and fall!  It is amazing to get to watch them change as the seasons change!

Last Day in Denver

(I am backdating alot of blogs right now as I play catch up from my awesome summer!  Right now, you are reading at the end of April.)

Heath, trying to make me feel better and cheer up, took me to a beautiful greenhouse in Denver.  As you can see, he is standing next to an absolutely *HUGE* hanging basket!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Happy Birthday to this lovely lady I am *proud* to call MY Mama!

Heath got up and went to get his blood drawn in Longmont and let me stay in bed to rest.  He had a wonderful day planned and wanted me feeling better!  I just laid there and relaxed.  Then, I couldn't rest anymore because I wanted to get up, get dressed, and try to make the best of it!  I had fun getting ready to CMT (country music television) and singing my heart out by myself in the hotel room!

I laid out my outfit for our dinner reservations at The Fort for tonight.  Bill, Heath's brother, got the recommendation from a friend.

My dress for tonight with a view of the park from
our window.

Firehouse Subs ~ Heath's FAvOriTE!

We started our day out of the hotel with some Firehouse Subs, one of Heath's favorites!

What a wonderful trip this is, I just wish I was feeling better.  My mouth feels like acid is burning all of the way up my esophagus into my mouth and over my tongue.  I have no idea what is causing it.  (Not super nice details, but WOAH does it NOT feel good!)

Heath took me to get some ice cream to help
with the burning.  He is *SO* sweet!

Then, he took me shopping.  (I ended up with this dress!)

This one was a close second, but I ended up
with the next one!

#2!

When we finished our day out-and-about, we ended back up at the hotel where we got ready for supper.  We decided it would be fun to dress up and so I brought the dress Heath picked out for me last year!  It was really fun to wear it out on the town.  *I even wore heels, carried a purse, curled my hair, and wore makeup!*  ~This doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it is fun!

Leaving the hotel for our supper.

Fun pictures in the parking lot!

Funny Faces!

Selfie ~ clouds rolling in made it a bit chilly.

Someone graciously took this awesome photo with The Fort
in the background.

Kinsey:  Quail, vanilla mint peas, and mashed potatoes
with rosemary.

Heath:  Triple crown:  buffalo, elk, and quail with vanilla
mint peas, and mashed potatoes with rosemary.
What a lovely day!  Thank you Honey!  Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings!

Handsome's Weekend in Denver!

We finally put a weekend on the calendar, to reserve it, and get away.  With all the wonderful rain that we have been getting, we have alot of mowing and outdoor chores to get done.  Now, I totally enjoy mowing, but at some point, everyone needs a little break.  Heath is really good about a work-life balance.

We took off for Denver after work.  I have been having some acid reflux lately and really not feeling the best, but didn't want to ruin this wonderful trip Heath had planned.  I have been working with my pharmacist to see if I can get any relief.  If not much better by tomorrow, I will call him again.

When we arrived at the hotel, Heath surprised me with a suite!  It had a HUGE hot tub and a separate bedroom with beautiful views.  How fun!  He ran a bath for me since I wasn't feeling the best, then we relaxed together and even watched a movie!  We never do that, so that was definitely a special treat!

Mowing!

This evening, I mowed in a sweatshirt!  I took a few photos to show the landscape at this time of year.  It will be fun to look back at the changes we have made.  It will also be awesome to see the change in seasons that God makes too!

TLC

This morning, Heath and I got to enjoy a couple's massage at TLC together and then I stayed and worked (at TLC) to help them as they head into the growing season.  Beautiful flowers!

Oh, Life!

Shortly after I got home, I was working in the garage when I heard a shotgun very close.  When I came out to see what was going on, I was surprised to see this.....

Yes, Heath was after those darn black birds (who were raising a ruckus) and sure enough, he got one and DROPPED it on our house roof.  Seriously, oh Life!

I had a project tonight for my chickens.  I thought it would be really neat to hang a couple of waterers in the trees around the yard so that the birds could get a drink as they are out-and-about around the house.  Heath went to the store and bought the appropriate hardware to be able to hang them and tonight he helped me by drilling a hole in the top so we could hang the waterers from the trees.  A little baling twine and wah-laa!

Finished product!

Travel for Work

Today, I went over to Ogallala for a website meeting for work.  We are designing a new website for both the John Deere stores and Water Technologies.  Ogallala is about a two hour roadtrip.  It was actually not bad because I got to stop and see one of our newest projects called L.E.P.A.  It is a center pivot with a lower-than-normal drop to avoid evaporation.  Low Energy Precision Application, to be exact.

New Countertops and Turkey Banquet

Petey and Guineas

Who runs this place anyway?  Glad the couch is being used!

Quite a day!  Heath's cousin, Mike from Clement's Construction, came out to help us install the new laminate on our countertops.  We are really glad we did it this way as it is much cheaper than buying all new tops.  With that island being a bar, naturally, we have some stools so you can sit and eat at the counter.  Since there wasn't much room to put your legs under the counter as you were sitting, we decided to extend them out a few inches.  With some plywood and laminate, Mike and Heath installed them.  They even angled the corners so we didn't catch a hip on them.

After we finished the counters, we all cleaned up and headed into the Turkey Banquet at the Hampton Inn.  We went a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so we bought tickets and had a date night.  It was alot of fun and the food was great!  We got to sit with a previous colleague who brought his grandson.  They come over and hunt geese all season at our place.  Such a blessing to be able to share what God has given us.  Not only do they get to hunt and build memories, but to be able to share that his his grandpa, he will never forget those moments.

I *LOVE* this Man!
I am becoming a light-weight in my old age and go to bed super early because we get up with the sun.  So, while we were sitting through the auction at the end, I was getting antsy and ready to go but we stayed until the end.  Good thing we did because they called our ticket number to win a Yeti cooler.  WOAH!  Glad we stayed!
